– Picnic with the Pack –

“Woof, woof! Dogs have the most fun!”

Air Bud the Famous Golden Retriever

Gooooooooob morning, puppers! It’s Aria, here! Today, I went to Bradley’s Country Store’s Annual Fun Day with my friends Huckleberry Finn Bass, Murphy Bass, and Prudence Mazziotta. We picnicked out in the back with our owners and all the other humans there.

Let me rewind to how it started. So, my human Kisha persuaded me to eat my medicines and promised to take me to the Fun Day if I did so. Let me tell you, they were absolutely disgusting and chicken is not my favorite flavor, but if it meant I got to see my besties, I had to do it. Then, I jumped in to the moving couch (my humans like to call it “car”), as Kisha packed treats and water for me. We drove to Prudence’s house to pick her and her human up. The car ride was such a blast and our humans let us keep the windows down the entire time! Ears and tongue flapping in the wind, we stuck our heads out waiting to smell the yummy sausage.

Eleven dog minutes passed and dirt was flying behind the car as we pulled into the open field of green spikes – I was so ready to run around and be free! Prudence and I were whining and jumping too much in the car because we spotted the Bass dogs, so Kisha said Huck and Murphy could get out first since they were being good boys. As soon as Kisha opened our door – before Kenzie could lasso us into our leashes – Pru and I escaped into the field of green spikes. We chased each other, played tag, and ran after squirrels and birds, until we were caught. Our humans scolded us, but they eventually got over it. We finally entered the fair and were blown away with lots of belly rubs, kisses, and love from all the new humans. Sugar (peanut butter, especially) and spice (yuck!) filled the air around us. Our humans kept yelling at us to hurry up so we could walk to the back where we would be less distracted. We got to another field, waited for our humans to lay the cozy blanket down on the green spikes (humans don’t like the spikes like we do, I’m not sure why…), and flopped on our bellies because we were exhausted. Our humans tied us to the cage-like thing surrounding the field, and went to go get food. They came back with greasy treats and lemon water (they call these “french fries” and “lemonade”), and even shared with us! My tummy hurt after, but human food is worth it. Murphy and I escaped our lasso’s and attempted to free the rest of the pack, but our humans caught us before we could accomplish the mission. Our humans were tired of putting up with us and kept telling us we were bad. This angered us, so we went more wild. We saw what was coming next…

They dragged us back to the moving couches, and took us home. We said our goodbyes to the Bass brothers (very quickly because we were in REALLY big trouble). Kisha and I dropped Pru off before heading home. I immediately crashed when we got home. BEST. DAY. EVER.

Thanks for keeping up with my day! Until next time, puppers.

XOXO,

Aria Patel
